Mothers Day!
I just want to tell all the Mom's out there- "HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!"
I had a great Mothers day. I got chocolate pie and beautiful flowers from both my sons. My youngest son Justin and his girlfriend Amanda gave me the chocolate pie (because they heard me mention that I wanted to make one the night before) and they gave me a really funny card. My oldest son Brandon and his girlfriend Amber gave me some gorgeous flowers. Of course they didn't have to buy me anything. Just their love is good enough for me. They were and absolute joy to raise and they make me the happiest Mom just being themselves. Thank God for wonderful sons:)

Prom!
My son and his girlfriend are at prom tonight. She's a senior this year so there's an exciting buzz around my house and it was fun watching her get all prettied up and ready for the big night. My son just shaved his face, threw some gel in his hair and slipped on his tux 30 minutes before they had to leave and he looked gorgeous(must be nice!) It pretty much took her all day to get ready. And she started early this morning by going to have her hair styled and her makeup done. And she started everything before I even got out of bed this morning! Actually she started preparing weeks ago with the picking out the dress, shoes, hair accessoried, jewelry, wrist corsage and all the other little details.
I was surprised a few weeks ago when she asked me if I would take her senior pics (not cap and gown) at the Botanical Gardens. I've never taken pics for a special occasion. Certainly not pics that will need preperation with posing, light and all that stuff. I told her that I would, but not to expect much out of me because I am NOT a photographer by any means. I was a little worried that she was expecting these perfect pics to magically appear in her camera. But she assured me she was going to love whatever I did. So off we went. Thankfully my son (her boyfriend) went a long to help her pose and to help me figure out good angles. I really don't think my pics would have turned out very good if it wasn't for him. Who knew he had photography in his blood?!?! The Botanical Gardens were gorgeous that day, we walked around posing and taking pics of her and my son. Maybe a half hour after we arrived other people started showing up in droves wearing prom dresses and tuxes and photographers with there fancy big cameras to the garden. We had a hard time keeping them out of our pics and us keeping out of theirs. But we managed. One thing I thought was smart was she took a bag of clothes and accessories with her so she could change in between shots so as not to have all the pics with her in the same clothes. She changed in my car.
Well I think the pics turned out amazingly well after her and I got home that evening we edited them with a special program she new about. And I do believe I've fallen in love with her little digital camera. I had no idea a little camera like that could work so well.
Well here you go, I'm adding some of the pics to this blogg. We haven't edited all of them yet. I'll add more to my blogg as they're available.

Swine Flu???
My eyes are watering, my throat hurts a little, and I have a curly tail...should I be worried?
Seriously this swine flu thing, aka H1N1 virus has me a little worried! I've been watching the news and reading the paper and I'm really concerned about our safety. Thank goodness I don't have school aged children or else I'd really be freaking out. But still, I don't want any of my loved ones to catch this thing. My youngest sons girlfriend is still in high school and she comes straight over to our house when she gets out of school. Can she bring it to us? I kind of wish they'd close her school district just to be safe. Her school borders the Fort Worth School district that closed every school down for almost 2 weeks. I don't think that virus avoids crossing borders or won't avoid jumping from school district to school district. Some people think that the Health Dept is jumping the gun by closing schools and canceling large events in the area, but I think they are just trying to nip this fast moving virus in the bud. If people keep congregating and continue passing it around, hundreds of people could die. I think It's better to be safe than sorry. So I hope everybody pays attention to the news and does what they advise. Lets stop this thing NOW!
