To give or NOT to give???

Yesterday I went to Walmart and was surprised to see a hispanic woman standing in front of the door holding a hand written cardboard sign that said, Mother of three, Jobless, and some other stuff but I didn't stick around to read it all. She was asking for money. She was talking in a whisper, sounded like she was crying. I gave her a dollar. First time I've seen someone in front of a store like that.

I fealt bad for her, but to tell you the truth, I'm jobless right now myself. I thought after I went into the store "should I have given her that doller?, I'm jobless too". I had to fill out a ton paper work with the Employment Commission to get that dollar. And they're not giving me enough of those dollars to pay all my bills. Oh well, I didn't go back to ask for it back lol.

I told a Walmart employee (who I knew) about her, and told them to go give that lady a job please. I'm not sure what happened. She was gone when I came out. It was sad to see. I would think that pan handling would be very hard to do. Asking strangers for money, looking desperate. Is it easy for some people?

  1. Update: My daughter in law saw this same woman a few days after I posted this and told me she witnessed the woman standing in front of the same Walmart with the same sign and a van came very quickly and picked her up. It had men and a baby in the van, and other women holding the same sign, sitting on the floor of the van. So apparently this was all a scam to get people to feel sorry for her and to give her money. Man what some people will do to keep from earning an honest buck. They play on other peoples sympothy. They make me sick.
