Art!!

I love making my jewelry and I will keep doing so, but now I'm also going to try my hand at painting with watercolors. So for the past few days I've been playing around with painting landscapes. I'm going to attach two paintings to this post that I've finished already. Last night I stayed up till after 1:00 am painting a portrait of my youngest son Justin, from looking at a photograph of him. I try to stay patient with myself but I could tell right away that I'm a little rusty at this watercolor painting thing. I did have some frutstrations trying to make shadows and light areas and stuff. Trying to get his eye's in the right place, his smile just right and such. You know I've never been really good at this, though I've never really tried but....I'm already trying portraits of people???? What am I crazy??? Yes just a little. Oh well ya gotta start some where right? I'll keep working on his portrait and hope it gets better every day.  I did take some pictures of my landscape and I'll attach them to this blog so you can see where I'm at with watercolors. Now just remember when you look at them......I am noooooo professional nor do I claim to be. I'm just getting started. I'd love to hear what everyone thinks though (just please be kind:) ~Sharon

Forgetting something?

I remember back when I was really young....oh say....16,17, maybe even a little older, I was a very forgetfull youth. Eventually people started to pick on me for my forgetfulness. I really did hate that quality about myself so I started thinking of how to fix it. After all I didn't want to be known by everyone as that forgetfull girl "she can't remember anything". I wanted to be know for the great person I thought I was. Well I gave my flaw a lot of thought and realized there were things I could do to change this habit. I heard that if I looked people in the eye when they spoke and even told me their name that I could remember it. I works! Who knew that if you pay attention to someone when they speak and look them in the eye, you'll actually remember what they say. I also found that keeping my car keys in my hand and looking at them before I shut the door will keep me from locking my keys in the car (that happened more than once). I also stop and go through a checklist in my head before I leave the house or grocery store or anyother place I may be leaving to make sure I didn't forget anything. All of this has become second nature now, It's easy to keep track of everything, and needless to say I'm not known as the "forgetful girl" anymore.
